The show was co-hosted by Hip-Hop veteran LL Cool J and Taylor Swift.

The self-proclaimed Best Rapper Alive, Lil Wayne, received eight nods. He is nominated in the top category Album Of The Year with his multi-platinum album Tha Carter III and competes against Coldplay’s Viva La Vida, Ne-Yo’s Year Of The Gentleman, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’ Raising Sand and Radiohead’s In Rainbows.

Furthermore Weezy is nominated in the categories Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group and Best Rap Son”. In the two latter counts, he received two nominations each.

The refund was reportedly ordered by New York’s Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. Weezy’s publicist has already stated that the first concert was postponed because the equipment they provided didn’t meet standards and the second show he had to put off due to his upcoming ‘I Am Music’ tour. Either way the Attorney General is pleased saying “Both Blue Cross Arena and Lil’ Wayne’s promoters are doing the right thing by refunding Rochester-area fans who purchased tickets to a performance that never took place.”

In related news, Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” was recently announced as the 3rd most downloaded album of 2008. Weey’s album was only beat by Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” (which sold over 500,000 copies digitally and 2+ million total) and Jack Johnson’s “Sleep Through The Static.”

The heavy amped concert with Weezy and T.I. was supposed to take place on December 6. The previous Rochester show took place on October 26th, where Wanye apparently walked out because he didn’t like the venues sound system. This time it may not be entirely Lil Wayne’s fault. His fellow co-headliner for the show T.I. apparently double booked himself to appear on Saturday Night Live the night of the show and Wayne apparently didn’t want to do the show solo.

This does have a happy ending, kind of. The concert has been rescheduled for December 13th, with T.I. only as the headliner. Fans who bought tickets for the cancelled shows have until December 3rd to get a refund. Lil Wayne is expected to announce a new Rochester show soon.
