Tech N9ne recently chopped it up with Double Cin at the end of October to talk about appearing on the track “Interlude” off Tha Carter IV, visiting Lil Wayne in jail for 3 hours, witnessing his recording process, not believing that Tune and Jay-Z really freestyle their songs, and more.
While talking about Weezy at the 6:00 mark, Tech explains the story of walking into a recording session at 4AM in Miami and witnessing Wayne, Mack Maine, and Boo all sitting at a table staring up to the ceiling while they think of what lyrics to say. Tech also mentioned that Tunechi had weed in his hand and was rolling it!
“I don’t believe Jay or Wayne. My niggas is tight, but I believe they write it down somewhere and memorize that shit.”
“Well, let me say about Wayne, though. I did witness some shit with Wayne. I ain’t never witnessed it with Jay Z. I witnessed Wayne when I was down there. Nigga, it was the creepiest shit I ever seen in my life. It was like some alien shit, my nigga. Okay, keep in mind I been writing for a long time… we pretty much do things the same in the studio… I walked in and them niggas was all looking up like this… I just wanted to see what they was doing and they was all looking up.”
