In a recent sit-down interview with Rap-Up, Birdman discussed Lil Wayne‘s upcoming Tha Carter V album and Wayne‘s legacy by comparing him to Tupac Shakur.
While talking about C5, Baby revealed that he has heard a few songs off the album and confirmed it will definitely be released this year, but it’s on Weezy when exactly he wants it to drop.
“Without a doubt, we’ll get that [Tha Carter V] this year. That’s on Tunechi [an exact release date], whatever he want do, but I’m guaranteeing you gon’ get it this year. I’ve heard a few [of the songs off C5], but I think, he is the best ever to me. A lot of success come from under his umbrella. Just him being him and I think it’s gonna be the biggest album of 2018, one of them. Without a doubt. It’s gonna be well worth the wait.
“They only have one Wayne and you only have one Tupac. Tupac had 100 songs, before that we never knew of that shit. Wayne had 100 features. That shit just not normal, that’s just not normal in our business today. A nigga might not want to hear two features from your ass, let alone 100. Wayne had 100 No. 1s.”
