Just over a month ago, Lil Wayne recorded some words of encouragement for the Colorado Buffaloes college football team to help out his good friend Deion Sanders.
In a recorded video, Weezy recalled how he tried to impress his fellow Hot Boys members and Cash Money Records label-mates in the studio back in the day after he had been to school.
“I remember when I was younger and I was a part of a group called the Hot Boys. That group consisted of Juvenile, B.G., Turk, and the likes of people like the Birdman and Mannie Fresh. And I remember we would have studio, every night of the week. I would just be coming home from school, like 12-years-old. So I would just get dropped off at the office and stuff.”
“When I got to the studio, everybody was talking about what they wanted to do, what was going on with their days. I couldn’t talk about my 12-year-old stuff. So, what I had to do was impress them. They were my idols. They were everything I thought I should be, and more. So I had to impress them on the biggest stage that matters the most – in the booth on a microphone.”
