Lil Wayne has announced one of the collaborations he has on his upcoming Weezy vs. Wheezy project will be with Young Thug, who is currently locked up on a RICO case.
The song, titled “Bless,” will mark the third collab between Wayne and Thug, following their previous work together on “Take Kare” and “Out West“.
The history between the two rappers is marked by controversy, notably when Young Thug originally tried to title one of his albums “Carter 6” before altering it to “Barter 6.”
Despite Thug‘s claim that this was a tribute to his “idol”, Weezy was displeased with the choice. He even told the crowd at one of his concerts in Mississippi: “I want y’all to understand that there’s only one motherf*cking Carter, ya digg. I want y’all to do me a favor and stop listening to songs of n*ggas that pose naked on their motherf*cking album cover.”
Additionally, both Thugger and Birdman were implicated as co-conspirators in the 2015 shooting incident involving Tunechi‘s tour bus in Atlanta, although neither faced conviction.
