On WWE Friday Night SmackDown (February 21st), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made a major announcement. WrestleMania 42 will take place next year in New Orleans, Louisiana at Caesars Superdome on April 11–12, 2026.
Before sharing the news, The Rock walked out to a new entrance theme—a mash-up featuring Lil Wayne‘s 1999 single “Tha Block Is Hot“.
During a press conference, the actor/professional wrestler explained why he chose “Tha Block Is Hot” for his entrance music:
“This is Lil Wayne’s city. I love Kendrick, that’s my guy, I love the NFL, and I love the Super Bowl, I loved his performance. So, it was my way of just showing love to the OG of New Orleans and that’s Lil Wayne.”
You can watch The Rock‘s entrance and press conference in the videos below. Last year, Wayne performed “A Milli” live at WrestleMania 40 to walk out Jey Uso. Now, his influence is back on the WWE stage!
