During the concert, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell presented Tunechi with the Key to the City. Master P also joined to give Tune a Career Achievement Award, announce “Lil Wayne Day” on February 6th and 7th, and reveal that Wayne will be one of the first inductees into the upcoming NOLA Walk Of Fame.
After an emotional response to these honors, Mr. Carter addressed his Super Bowl snub: “I said to myself I wanna be on stage for the Super Bowl one day in front of my mom. And I worked my ass off to get that f**king position… and it was ripped away from me, but this motherf**king moment right here… they can’t take that from me!”
