Lil Wayne recently sat down with Maverick Carter for an interview on SpringHill’s “#Mavericks” series.
During the conversation, Wayne opened up about his early life growing up in New Orleans and his start in music. He shared memories of the Hot Boys, his first group with B.G. called The B.G’z, and his influences during that time.
Tunechi also discussed how it went when he first started making money and how his definition of success has evolved. Transitioning to modern times, he explained why he doesn’t listen to other music artists and shared a story about 21 Savage feeling some type of way when Tune didn’t recognize him.
Next, Weezy revealed when he first started writing raps and shared his thoughts on whether he feels proud of his influence on today’s new generation of rappers.
In addition, Mr. Carter named his G.O.A.T. verse as the one on “Block Burner“. He also talked about what he learned from Taylor Swift and his ongoing goal to be the ultimate artist.
P.S.: At least we now know what that photo shoot was for!
